ARO 637140-AB rebuilds a 1/2 in. air-operated diaphragm pump fluid section using a Santoprene diaphragm and stainless steel balls.
For 1/2 in. air-operated double diaphragm pumps, ARO 637140-AB supplies the fluid section wear parts. Its diaphragm is Santoprene and its balls are stainless steel, a mix of a flexible elastomer and a hard metal check.
Kit notes name four items: an O-ring, a diaphragm, a ball and grease packaging. The grease helps during reassembly, and the fresh O-ring reseals the joint you open to reach the diaphragm.
The diaphragm separates the air chamber from the pumped liquid and flexes with every stroke. The stainless balls drop onto their seats to stop backflow, then lift to let liquid pass.

- Metal balls are nicked or worn and the valves leak back.
- A Santoprene diaphragm has cracked, sending product to the exhaust.
